Odin Is With Us is a reaction image and catchphrase pulled from the 2020 Assassin's Creed Valhalla cinematic trailer, where protagonist Eivor spots a hooded Odin figure mid-battle and delivers the line. The screenshot became a popular reaction template on Reddit and iFunny in May 2020, often paired with a Twitter copypasta about Norse awakening.
Origin
The image and the line come from the Assassin's Creed Valhalla cinematic trailer that Ubisoft released on April 30, 2020[1]. Around the 2:40 mark, Eivor is fighting Saxon soldiers when he spots a hooded figure watching from behind a tree as a raven takes flight overhead[3]. He turns, shouts the line, and then cuts down the Saxon champion[1].

Overview
The meme centers on a screenshot of Eivor, voiced by Magnus Bruun, from Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla release trailer[1]. Posters typically stack an image or caption on top describing a powerful ally arriving, then let Eivor's declaration "Odin is with us!" work as the punchline about the tide turning[3]. The format functions as both a reaction image and a standalone catchphrase.
The quote also travels without the screenshot, attached to a Twitter copypasta that reads, "The release of Assassin's Creed Valhalla WILL BE the death knell of Judeo-Christianity. Look forward to the date, soon our people will awaken. Odin is with us!"[4]
How It Spread
Reddit user Geralt_1272 posted the earliest known meme version to r/Gaming on May 1, 2020, under the title "Have you guys watched the new trailer?" The post picked up nearly 18,000 upvotes and 416 comments[2]. Later that same day, r/Gaming user CosmicKyle720 uploaded a second version that hit over 68,000 upvotes and 870 comments[3].
The format jumped platforms within days. On May 3, 2020, an anonymous 9GAG post titled "That look on your mom's face" scored more than 4,000 points[5]. That same date, iFunny user InableToBeVinced posted a version captioned "When you clutch a 1v5 at 8am and hear your parents applauding you from their room," which pulled in nearly 47,000 likes[6]. Two days later, the Instagram account nochillrick added a version, and the Facebook page Dota 2 Core dropped a MOBA-themed variant on May 5, 2020, with more than 3,100 likes and 4,000 shares[3].
The copypasta arm of the meme kicked off with Twitter user EVTOPlA on May 2, 2020, and reposts spread across Twitter, Reddit, and iFunny in the days after[4]. Twitter user DrunkAustrian shared an early example that same day with a humorous image attached[4].
How to Use
The typical template stacks a top caption or image describing a powerful ally, boss, or force joining your side, with the Eivor screenshot below as the reaction. The line also works on its own in comment threads whenever help arrives at a decisive moment, and a common convention is dropping it in Norse or Assassin's Creed contexts without any image at all[3].
