{"id":"zombie-deer-disease","name":"Zombie Deer Disease","summary":"Zombie Deer Disease is a 2019 reactionary meme applying zombie movie imagery and apocalypse jokes to chronic wasting disease, a fatal neurological prion illness spreading across North American wildlife.","tags":[],"howToUse":["**News headline + apocalypse reaction:** Screenshot a real CWD headline, then pair it with a reaction image or caption about the zombie apocalypse starting. The funnier the disconnect between the clinical news tone and the panicked reaction, the better.","**Movie comparison format:** Reference zombie films like Train to Busan, The Walking Dead, or 28 Days Later alongside CWD news. The joke is that real life is following a horror movie script.","**Survival prep jokes:** Post about stocking up on supplies, boarding up windows, or other exaggerated doomsday prep in response to the news. Works best when the overreaction is obvious.","**Dark science humor:** Riff on the genuinely creepy details of prion diseases. The fact that prions can't be killed, survive in soil for decades, and fold normal proteins into copies of themselves gives plenty of material."],"imageCount":7,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/zombie-deer-disease-sickly-fence.webp","caption":"Real CWD infected deer.","width":800,"height":450,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/zombie-deer-disease-close-up.webp","caption":"Iconic zombie deer imagery.","width":680,"height":357,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/zombie-deer-disease-health-crisis.webp","caption":"Health crisis apocalypse quote image.","width":680,"height":680,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/zombie-deer-disease-emaciated.webp","caption":"Real CWD outbreak deer image.","width":680,"height":456,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/zombie-deer-disease-lab.webp","caption":"Satirical laboratory meme.","width":680,"height":383,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/zombie-deer-disease-minecraft-gamer.webp","caption":"Gamer preparedness joke collage.","width":680,"height":680,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/zombie-deer-disease-train-busan.webp","caption":"Early viral reaction tweet meme.","width":680,"height":334,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/zombie-deer-disease/history.md","related":["corpse-waves-from-coffin","alan-resnick","creature-breaking-glass-me-at-bros-window","creepy-garfield","horrifying-house-guest-shadowlurker","pennywise-the-clown","the-human-centipede","shoggoth","1999","28-years-later-hung-alpha-zombie","candle-cove","jeff-the-killer"],"popularityRank":1384,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
