{"id":"steamed-hams","name":"Steamed Hams","summary":"Steamed Hams is a 1996 *Simpsons* bit where Principal Skinner passes Krusty Burger off as homemade \"steamed hams\" to impress Superintendent Chalmers, becoming a prolific remix meme after 2016.","tags":["steamed hams","simpsons","skinner","chalmer","meme","remix","2017"],"howToUse":["**\"Steamed Hams, but...\"** remixes: Take the original clip and re-edit it with a specific rule or style. Examples include \"Steamed Hams but every word is alphabetical,\" \"Steamed Hams but it's *Metal Gear Solid*,\" or \"Steamed Hams but each word is only said once\"[4]. The format is open-ended.","**Quote-based shitposting:** Pull specific lines and apply them to new contexts. \"Aurora Borealis? At this time of year?\" works as a response to anything implausible. \"Delightfully devilish, Seymour\" fits any sneaky plan. \"Well, Seymour, you are an odd fellow, but I must say, you steam a good ham\" is the classic closer[11].","**Video game and animation recreations:** Rebuild the scene shot-for-shot in a different visual medium, whether that's a fighting game UI, anime style, or live action[8].","**Concept inversions:** Flip the premise. What if Skinner told the truth? What if Chalmers never showed up? These play with the story logic rather than the visual format[11]."],"imageCount":18,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-quintessential-scene.webp","caption":"The iconic Steamed Hams scene.","width":680,"height":676,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-multi-panel-dialogue.webp","caption":"Multi-panel character dialogue mashup.","width":688,"height":925,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-bill-oakley-script.webp","caption":"Original episode script pages from creator.","width":680,"height":778,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-drake-hamburgers.webp","caption":"Drake format comparing food preferences.","width":323,"height":485,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-celebrity-mashup.webp","caption":"Celebrity figure pointing mashup remix.","width":680,"height":416,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-woolworths-sign.webp","caption":"Real-world store humorous sign reference.","width":598,"height":600,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-drake-preference-meme.webp","caption":"Drake format food preference variation.","width":487,"height":491,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-homer-aurora-borealis.webp","caption":"Homer variant with episode dialogue references.","width":600,"height":901,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-character-merchandise.webp","caption":"Fan merchandise inspired by meme.","width":475,"height":318,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-dinner-dialogue-text.webp","caption":"Scene with dialogue text overlays.","width":734,"height":767,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-text-catchphrase.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-coming-through-text.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-dinner-logo-branding.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-aurora-borealis-mashup.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-krusty-burger-sign.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-blue-character-parody.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-say-the-line.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/steamed-hams-dinner-scene-labeled.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/steamed-hams/history.md","related":["deep-fried-memes","all-star-shrek","cash-me-outside","big-chungus","fidget-spinner","polite-cat","to-be-continued","salt-bae","mike-wazowski-face-swap","floor-is-lava","change-my-mind","shooting-stars"],"popularityRank":520,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
