{"id":"sage","name":"Sage","summary":"Sage is an imageboard slang term posted in the email or Options field of a reply to keep the thread from bumping to the top of the catalog. The practice crossed from Japan's 2channel to 4chan by early 2006, when animator Brian \"Okk\" Raddatz gave the concept a cape-wearing mascot in the flash short Sage Man[1]. It stuck as one of the oldest pieces of chan etiquette still baked into 4chan's software.","tags":["sage meme","4chan sage","2channel sage","sage man","imageboard slang","age and sage","sageru","anti-bump","sazha"],"howToUse":[],"imageCount":4,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/sage/sage-sage-mascot-muscle-man.webp","caption":"The iconic mascot illustration associated with the 4chan 'sage' meme, depicting an angry, flexing figure branded with the word 'Sage'.","width":1600,"height":900,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/sage/sage-sage-cartoon-video-screenshot.webp","caption":"A screenshot from an animated version of the classic sage mascot illustration, indicated by the pause icon in the lower-left corner.","width":660,"height":480,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/sage/sage-angry-sage-shouting-sketch.webp","caption":"A hand-drawn depiction of an enraged imageboard user shouting 'SAGE' repeatedly, satirizing the practice of aggressive sage-bombing.","width":512,"height":527,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/sage/sage-sage-herb-plant-pun.webp","caption":"A visual pun referencing the herb 'sage', playing on the shared name with the imageboard term.","width":680,"height":989,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/sage/history.md","related":["rules-of-the-internet","not-your-personal-army","moetron","autism","its-so-over-were-so-back","apu-apustaja","gondola","spurdo","christopher-poole-moot","marcel-hesses-darknet-murder-confession","meme-magic","i-know-that-feel-bro"],"popularityRank":4128,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
