{"id":"ligma","name":"Ligma","summary":"Ligma is a bait-and-switch joke designed to trick someone into asking \"What's ligma?\" so the prankster can deliver the punchline \"ligma balls\" (a crude play on \"lick my balls\"). The joke existed online as early as May 2018, but it exploded into mainstream awareness in July 2018 when Instagram trolls used it to fabricate a death hoax claiming Fortnite streamer Ninja had died from a fictional disease called \"Ligma\"[1]. The hoax spread so fast that multiple news outlets covered it, PewDiePie made a video about it, and Ninja himself had to ban the word from his Twitch chat[2].","tags":["ligma","Ligma meme","Ligma meaning","Ligma origin"],"howToUse":["Casually mention \"ligma\" as if it's a real thing (a disease, a place, a product, an event)","Wait for the target to ask \"What's ligma?\"","Deliver the punchline: \"Ligma balls\""],"imageCount":19,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-ninja-join-us.webp","caption":"The peak viral moment of the Ligma hoax phenomenon.","width":250,"height":127,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-hoax-primary.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":800,"height":450,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-reddit-sugma-difference.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":265,"height":154,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-reddit-reactions.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":680,"height":139,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-ninja-heavenly-clouds.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":431,"height":767,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-text-message.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":1200,"height":1130,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-tshirt-merchandise.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":597,"height":600,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-four-panel-comic.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":680,"height":802,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-bill-gates-macro.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":547,"height":522,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-doctor-punchline.webp","caption":"Ligma","width":789,"height":462,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-movie-dialogue.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-pov-reactions.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-text-conversation.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-joke-extensions.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-red-tint-pixel.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-twitter-political.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-ninja-hater-hoax.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-ninja-landed-safely.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/ligma-cbs-news-article.webp","caption":"","width":null,"height":null,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ligma/history.md","related":["fortnite-default-dance","kowalski-analysis","vibe-check","bottle-flip-challenge","elon-musk-memes","glow-up","ight-ima-head-out","that-one-friend","built-different"],"popularityRank":2027,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
