{"id":"galaxy-brain","name":"Galaxy Brain","summary":"Galaxy Brain, also known as Expanding Brain, is a multi-panel image macro meme that ranks ideas or preferences using progressively elaborate brain imagery. Originating on Reddit's r/dankmemes in January 2017 as part of the \"Whomst\" joke, the format pairs escalating concepts with brain images that grow from a simple X-ray to a cosmic, universe-sized brain. The meme works as both ironic satire of pseudo-intellectualism and a genuine ranking tool, making it one of the most versatile exploitable templates of the late 2010s.","tags":["galaxy brain","comparison meme","thinking levels","escalation","progression","meme format"],"howToUse":["Pick a topic with multiple options or takes (food, music, games, opinions).","Arrange three to five related ideas from most common/sensible to most absurd or niche.","Pair the most basic idea with a plain brain image (small, dim, realistic).","Pair each subsequent idea with a progressively more elaborate brain (glowing neural activity, cosmic aura, universe-encompassing light beams).","The final \"galaxy brain\" panel usually features the most ridiculous or overthought take presented as peak enlightenment."],"imageCount":9,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-cosmic-template.webp","caption":"Galaxy Brain template illustration showing glowing cosmic brain visualization","width":455,"height":278,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-four-panel-cosmic.webp","caption":"Classic four-panel Galaxy Brain escalation.","width":724,"height":1024,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-meme-header.webp","caption":"Galaxy Brain meme informational header.","width":1280,"height":720,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-online-handmade.webp","caption":"Galaxy Brain comparing meme mediums.","width":1024,"height":1024,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-blue-cosmic.webp","caption":"Blue cosmic Galaxy Brain template.","width":857,"height":1202,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-glowing-single.webp","caption":"Galaxy Brain","width":1280,"height":720,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-k-whomstd.webp","caption":"Galaxy Brain","width":1212,"height":1536,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-amazon-prime.webp","caption":"Galaxy Brain","width":1024,"height":1536,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/galaxy-brain-colorful-gradient.webp","caption":"Galaxy Brain","width":509,"height":640,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/galaxy-brain/history.md","related":["doomer","modern-problems-modern-solutions","dicaprio-laughing","epic-handshake","change-my-mind","blinking-white-guy","cash-me-outside","buff-doge-vs-cheems","cheems","gigachad"],"popularityRank":1583,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
