{"id":"cosplay","name":"Cosplay","summary":"Cosplay is the fan practice of dressing up as characters from anime, video games, comics, film, and television, usually at conventions or photo shoots. The word was coined in 1984 by Japanese publisher Nobuyuki Takahashi as a portmanteau of costume and play, though costumed fandom itself dates back to a 1939 science fiction convention in New York.","tags":["cosplay","costume play","kosupure","Nobuyuki Takahashi","crossplay","comic con","anime convention","fandom costume"],"howToUse":[],"imageCount":6,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/cosplay/cosplay-anime-cosplay-reference-comparison.webp","caption":"A cosplayer recreating an anime character's schoolgirl outfit alongside the original reference art.","width":680,"height":489,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/cosplay/cosplay-first-cosplay-worldcon-1939.webp","caption":"Forrest J Ackerman and Myrtle R.
