{"id":"bert-is-evil","name":"Bert is Evil","summary":"Bert Is Evil! was a parody website created by Dino Ignacio in 1997 that used Photoshopped images to \"prove\" that Bert from Sesame Street was secretly connected to history's worst people and events. The site won a Webby Award and spawned dozens of mirror sites, but its strangest moment came in October 2001, when a Bert-and-Bin-Laden image from one of those mirrors showed up on a real protest poster in Bangladesh, making international news and forcing Ignacio to shut the project down.","tags":["bert is evil","photoshop","1997","sesame street","satire","misinformation","early internet"],"howToUse":["Find a historical photo, disaster image, or picture of a notorious person","Photoshop Bert (specifically Bert, not Ernie) into the scene","Write a deadpan explanation treating Bert's presence as real evidence of his sinister nature"],"imageCount":10,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-controversial-mashup-primary.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil controversial image manipulation","width":580,"height":282,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-bert-ernie-bed-dark.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":700,"height":910,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-science-experiment-impact.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":644,"height":500,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-divine-judgment-overlay.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":1280,"height":720,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-controversial-mashup-edit.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":291,"height":241,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-ernie-prank-medical.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":460,"height":456,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-angry-menacing-expressions.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":526,"height":389,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-dark-unclear-figure.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":165,"height":115,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-black-white-still.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":165,"height":115,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/bert-is-evil-dark-gif-animation.webp","caption":"Bert is Evil","width":165,"height":115,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/bert-is-evil/history.md","related":["10-guy","advice-dog","ate-my-balls","bernie-sanders-mittens","30-50-feral-hogs","advice-animals","bonsai-kitten","crying-jordan","tourist-guy","albino-blacksheep","all-your-base-are-belong-to-us"],"popularityRank":3005,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
