{"id":"ballin","name":"Ballin'","summary":"Ballin' is an internet meme format built around the phrase \"He Will Never Be Ballin',\" where a character is doubted to ever be \"ballin'\" (playing basketball or living large), only to be immediately shown doing exactly that. The format originated in early 2019 from a photoshopped image of a toad on a basketball court and hit peak virality in late 2020 through Ace Attorney-style courtroom argument edits and voiced versions.","tags":["ballin","meme","internet meme","viral meme","meme format"],"howToUse":["**The doubt:** Present a character with text reading \"He/She will never be ballin'\" or a similar statement of disbelief. The character is usually shown in their normal, non-basketball state.","**The proof:** Show the same character playing basketball, often photoshopped onto a court or holding a ball. Add triumphant text or music."],"imageCount":7,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/ballin-chimpanzees-apes-wildlife.webp","caption":"Primate/ape photos arranged in 'He will never BALLIN'' four-panel meme","width":680,"height":722,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/ballin-half-life-2-video-game.webp","caption":"Ballin'","width":500,"height":530,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/ballin-toad-frog-basketball-grid.webp","caption":"Ballin'","width":680,"height":722,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/ballin-anime-live-action-grid.webp","caption":"Ballin'","width":680,"height":517,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/ballin-firearms-comparison-unclear.webp","caption":"Ballin'","width":394,"height":670,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/ballin-scooby-doo-anime-four-panel.webp","caption":"Ballin'","width":680,"height":677,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/ballin-template-blank-white-space.webp","caption":"Ballin'","width":680,"height":744,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/ballin/history.md","related":["baka","amogus","amber-heard-trial","bing-chilling","old-town-road","amogus-drip","bussin","apes-together-strong","when-imposter-is-sus","among-us","anakin-padme-meme","always-has-been"],"popularityRank":784,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
