{"id":"alexa-wrong-command","name":"Alexa Wrong Command","summary":"Alexa Wrong Command is an internet meme format built around Amazon's Alexa voice assistant mishearing, misinterpreting, or flat-out ignoring user requests. The jokes typically feature a person giving Alexa a simple voice command only for the device to respond with something wildly incorrect, from playing the wrong song to ordering unexpected items. The format took off alongside the mass adoption of smart speakers in the mid-to-late 2010s, as millions of households discovered that talking to a black cylinder doesn't always go as planned.","tags":["alexa-wrong-command"],"howToUse":["Write \"Me:\" followed by a normal, reasonable request to Alexa","Write \"Alexa:\" followed by a completely wrong, unrelated, or absurd response","The funnier the disconnect between request and response, the better","Film yourself giving Alexa a command","Capture the wrong response (real or staged)","React accordingly","Write or screenshot something mildly sad or dramatic","Follow it with \"Alexa, play Despacito\"","The joke is that Despacito is the only appropriate emotional response"],"imageCount":2,"nsfw":false,"images":[{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/alexa-wrong-command/alexa-wrong-command-weather.webp","caption":"Amazon Echo speaker with speech bubble saying \"why, we all know you aren't going anywhere\"","width":728,"height":728,"nsfw":false},{"url":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/alexa-wrong-command/alexa-wrong-command-frustrated.webp","caption":"Alexa Wrong Command","width":750,"height":1000,"nsfw":false}],"historyUrl":"https://fcdtoybbbn2ccxbp.public.blob.vercel-storage.com/images/alexa-wrong-command/history.md","related":["absurdist-humor","ice-spice","is-it-over","livvy-dunne","skibbidi-sigma","algorithm-complaint","app-permission-request","authenticator-app-lost","bluetooth-connection-issue","buffering-video","cancel-button-location"],"popularityRank":363,"license":"Meme images and history: templates, screenshots, photos and fan edits, many of copyrighted material or real people.
